Student Academic Achievements

Mercedes College is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of the 2016 Graduates in both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

43 students successfully gained their IB Diploma with approximately three quarters of the cohort (72%) gaining an ATAR of 90 or higher.  Almost half of the IB students (46.5%) achieved an ATAR of over 95 with an impressive 14% of students in the top 1% of students in Australia with ATARs of over 99.

Our highest achiever in the IB Diploma was Lucas Di Ubaldo who gained 44 out of a possible 45 points and an ATAR of 99.95. This included Merits in five of his six subjects.

SACE results have now been finalised with 12 students awaiting an IB result now completing their SACE requirements. A total of 103 students successfully completed their SACE. Our top SACE student was Caitlin Westover with an ATAR of 97.7.

As an overall Year 12 cohort, 35% of students achieved an ATAR of 90 or higher with a further 21% in the 80’s. The median ATAR was 81.25. A total of 45 Merits were achieved in a range of subjects across the IB Diploma and SACE. A number of Year 11 students in both programmes have also achieved Merits in preparation for their final year.

We congratulate all our Year 12 students on their results from 2016 and thank the whole College community for their contributions throughout the learning journey.
